Hawaiian spinner dolphins roam the coastline of the Big Island. They hunt at night in the deep ocean waters, then enter coves in the early morning hours to frolick, play, and socialize until they go into sleep mode for the day. I had the great fortune to be able to swim with them at Kealakakua Bay, Honaunau, and Ho'okipa Beach in January of 2009. I swam from the coast with snorkel gear and fins, and put my D3 in a waterproof case to make these images with natural light.
